How to manage Ooma Business Texting for a Virtual Receptionist [Pro]

If you would like to enable Ooma Business Texting from a Virtual Receptionistpro, follow these instructions:

  1. Log in to office.ooma.com as an administrator and navigate to the Extensions page.
  2. Locate the Virtual Receptionist to which you’d like to add texting and click the corresponding line.
  3. Click the MESSAGING tab.
  4. If this is the first time you have updated the member list for this Virtual Receptionist, click ADD MEMBERS to edit the approved texting list. Otherwise, click Edit members.
  5. Click right arrow to add new users from the list on the left. Click left arrow to remove existing users from the list on the right.
  6. Click SAVE.

NOTE: Keep in mind that some older Ooma Office accounts may allow any user to text from shared numbers until this setting is updated. Virtual Receptionists for newer accounts will default to being available only to the pool of users selected by the account administrator.
