You Just Cannot Beat This Service

OOMA is just about the best service for the best price around. VoIP doesn't really use that much data and after all, how many phones are in use at the same time anyway? So why do all the other players charges so much money for equipment that isn't being used most of the time? It doesn't have to be that way, and that's where OOMA shines like a candle on a hillside, uncovered by a basket. The quality and consistency of the OOMA experience and service deserve praise. So I am offering it now, and plenty of it too.You won't have any more guilt trips or sorrow for having a landline with OOMA.
Nice lookingl and great quality for the money.

Easy to set up. Only problem I had was with my router. Got past that and the rest was easy and went as described in the instructions. Texted and called support. Support personnel were excellent: very good communications skills: listened well to the issue I was having, were patient, were knowledgable, were courteous, and gave me enough information to solve the issues. I was totally impressed.

The best purchase I mean.

Purchased this to replace our home phone (Verizon Wireless home phone). Easy installation: First Go to ooma site, create an account & register the ID number on the device wrapper, then just conect power supply to strip, attach ethernet cable from router to RJ45 socket on rear of device, attach phone to RJ11 socket. The inital power on, I had to wait a couple of minutes for updates to be installed, then was greeted with a musical dialtone. After a few calls to friends to test the call quality, initiated the current number porting process. The website stated that it could take several weeks to take place, but was completed in only 6 days. They sent emails informing me of the progress. The documentation was clear, and led me through the process with only one exception. The location for number porting was not in plain sight. I found it on the My ooma dashboard website, under Sales|Services.I haven't explored all the standard features yet and none of the Premium services. The initial services replicate our prior phone services nicely. My only concern is power outages. We get them here occasionally during severe weather, and my UPS unit has only a 45 minute capacity. We'll use our cell phones in that case (assuming the cell towers stay up.All in all, nice product, easy to install, delivers great performance at a good price. (My wife, who is a technophobe, didn't even notice the switchover)
Ditch the landline. Expect some quirks.

Maybe I was the last man on earth to cling to my copper land-line, but it was such a rip-off. I was paying CenturyLink $40/month for local calls only, no caller ID, and audible static. With Ooma, I get all sorts of features plus two lines for $15. The good: *Sound quality is crystal-clear, perhaps because we have very reliable fiber-to-the-house Internet access. * Free Long-distance + reasonable international * Spam control * Easy access to call logs & voice mail via phone app and webThe bad:* To fully access two lines, you must purchase a handset or a link device. I went with the handset. The Telo should come with two phone jack outlets. * The interface consists of a web dashboard, and an iPhone app, as well as some features via the Telo itself. There is some overlap between the app and the web dashboard. It would be much cleaner if the app and the website had the same functionality. I almost never touch the Telo box itself. * Now and then, things just don’t work as you would expect. For example, when I tried to set up my iPhone to receive calls to my home phone, I could no longer call the home phone from the iPhone. I gave up on that idea. * The handset is quirky. It went through a phase where the second line wouldn’t ring through, so we couldn’t take those calls on the handset, which was our primary intention. It lost the uploaded phone book once. The handset should include a headset jack.
The total experience was professional and convenient.

The phone system setup was easy but you have to read and follow the instructions exactly. I was surprised at the quality of the service including the clarity and strength of the signal. I have not experienced any dropped calls or service problems. Since I have internet, which I use daily anyway, there is not a problem with having to have the internet available for the VOIP connection. Otherwise, it is just like a landline and I am very happy that I bought this unit and the service. I am a senior citizen on a small pension so I cannot afford the Premium Service but I do not need it and am happy with the basics. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a reliable and inexpensive "Old Fashioned" phone, but that is actually a space-age marvel.
It's easy to install and it just simply works well.
