Free phone service--and simple to install
Chris on Dec 09, 2019
After finally purchasing Ooma Telo, I wonder why I waited so long. A reasonable price and easy to install. Just one thing missing--the phone bill. I can get used to that!

Excellent Service & Features, Unbeatable Price!
Brian Guidi on Dec 09, 2019
After about a month of use, we are very happy with our Ooma Service. As recent cord-cutters, we needed a solution that was inexpensive, although allowed us to transfer our landline number. After quite a bit of research, we chose Ooma. We have not been disappointed. The standard feature set is better than the standard features that came with our expensive Xfinity option, at an exponentially lower cost. The base station is pretty cheaply built, and the sound quality listening to the voicemail from the base station is awful. However, the HD3 handset and Ooma mobile/desktop app's negate the need to listen to messages on the base station. All around, we are very pleased with our switch so far.

Excellent Phone Solution and Customer Support

I heard about Ooma at a presentation on cutting the cord. The presenter was very positive about this company and its services. Consumer Reports' review concurred with the presenter and rated Ooma tops in telephone solutions. Ooma's website was very helpful in showing me how easy the transition would be. My actual experience was as easy they show on their website. I had one minor problem with dropping the temporary phone number I was assigned after having my existing home phone number ported over to Ooma, but found Ooma's technical support very professional and responsive in getting the issue resolved quickly. I am totally sold on the Ooma phone solution and have already recommended it to a number of my friends who are looking to cut the cord.

Extremely Happy!

Great for my elderly parents who refuse to give up a landline! Robocall control is awesome!

So far, so good

I have had no problems so far. I am going to opt out of the Premier package. I don’t need a separate phone line. I would like the extended caller-id, but I can’t see the extra cost for just that feature.Winston

Surprised and delighted

I bought my Ooma base station after cancelling my "big cable company" triple play contract. I did my research and decided Ooma was the best choice for our family due to pricing and reviews. The set-up was simpler than I expected and the sound quality is better than I expected. We are happy with our purchase. Ooma is a quality product.

OK to date

Cutting the Cord as they say.
Mark on Dec 05, 2019
I normally do not write reviews but when Roy from Ooma reached out, I had to respond. Chose Ooma at the recommendation of a friend when I determined it was time to cut the cord. Ooma seemed to make the most sense as all I need was a basic home phone to port. Set up was very easy and the number port is the best I have seen so far. Ooma customer service so far has been outstanding without any of the negative issues I have seen on the net. Just use their CHAT On Line feature. From the start, I did notice that I was signed up for the premier service and had to cancel this. This was not obvious until I really looked at my account. Cutting the cord means get the price to the minimum level no matter what. I would have preferred to only have the basic service that I signed up for and then upgrade if required. But I also understand that Ooma has to do their best to get subscribers to upgrade to really make money. Overall, Ooma an Ethernet phone solution that MUST be considered.

Conveniently simple to set up!

Ooma is a terrific alternative to cable landline phones. The price cannot be beat, the quality perfect. Follow the directions for a quick and easy transition. I wanted to keep my old number - no problem. Ooma folks clearly explain that it may take a week of two before your old provider is able to switch over. Simply use the new number Ooma provides while still keeping your old phone system on. Ooma lets you know when the switch takes place. For me, it was one week. Then I disconnected the cable phone. One glitch - my Safari browser does not work well with my.ooma.com. Fix that and this is a five star review.

Easy to use and great price

We finally cut the cable cord a few months ago. As we got our landline phone from our cable provider we could either forget about a landline or find an alternative. We chose Ooma. The first attraction was price. Once the hardware was sent out I found it was easy to hook up. We ported our old phone number and the change was seamless. Lots of features we haven’t used yet. Only problem is a slight echo on some calls. Not sure if it is the system or our old cordless phones. Ooma is a great option to consider.
