The quality exceeded my expectations. Ease of setup and use was terrific. This was recommended to me by a friend and I will also recommend it to others.I plan on taking my phone with me when I go camping!!!I know I could have ported a local phone number from an existing account - but I would have liked to have more local land line numbers available. But, that is more my problem - than a shortcoming on Ooma's part.

I wish I had gone with Ooma long ago. Easy porting of my number, and great features, all easy to use (even for me!). Ooma was recommended to me by a friend, and I would also recommend it.
Courteous and best service
I will definitely recommend to my friends it is best value for money
Unexpected lag / note for landline folks
JM Martinez on Mar 16, 2020
I was surprised by the rather significant lag time in calls. It is at least a full second, which doesn't seem like much until you keep having awkward conversation with folks. We have cable internet which is faster than our old DSL by a good bit so maybe it's just something to get used to. Other features are good and the price is excellent compared to the phone company. NOTE: if you want to use ALL your old phones in their current locations, you'll need to get the Bluetooth equipped Telo Air plus the Bluetooth hubs (Ooma Linx). This was not made clear to me when I spoke to the Ooma representative and would have influenced my initial purchase.

We like on how much better this system works then Basic Talk that we use to have.

I have had this service for several months and so far so good. I had a competitor for 9 years and the price kept climbing. I said when the monthly fee went over $40.00 I was done. They increased my bill and I immediately went with Ooma. The price was right, and the features are great. And so far the clarity of the calls seem to be clear and conscience. Very satisfied with my experience so far.

Over all I have been pleased with Ooma. I have had a couple of problems. Every once in awhile I get no dial tone, the blue indicator is on but line is dead. I unplug it from power for 30 sec or so and plug it back in, it reboots and works fine after that until the next time it happens. The second problem I have is when I installed the wireless bluetooth adapter and moved the base unit to another room the calls cut in and out and the words are garbled. I have no other problems with my wireless network.
Huge savings over CenturyLink
My brother suggested Ooma when I was complaining about paying $70/month for 1 land line thru CenturyLink. Ooma will now be about $6.50/month. Amazing! In a little over month, we will pay for our Ooma device! We have been apprehensive to eliminate our land line. When it comes down to it though....we have lost our land line service SEVERAL times per year vs. losing electricity only a few times due to storms. So we have been trying out Ooma this month and so far are very impressed. I like the various message listening options/notification--listening on phone, or by opening an email notice, as well as using the actual Ooma device. We also enjoy saving some messages and now have the ability to save up to 100. We don't have to press "1" + area code anymore for phone numbers in our area code even if they are actually located nearly 100 miles from our home! Now we can just call like it's a local call. The sound is always very clear. We are impressed so far and have recommended Ooma to friends.
Does what it says on the box...

Have been using my Ooma system for about 3 weeks now and it's mainly so that I can make (free) calls locally as and when, and a couple of long-distance calls to the UK per month. It was easy to set up and the price was excellent - only had to buy the box - in comparison to what I was paying with Vonage for the same service ($33/month). I bought the add-on for International calling, and I'm pleased with that, so far. It's also very useful to have an old-type answerphone mechanism within the box itself without having to dial up or go online in order to retrieve voicemails. For the purpose I intend to use it, this system is superior. I don't need all the other add-ons (Premium, for example) as I'm a private user who doesn't make many personal calls on the house phone. Recommended!

Easy to set up, number was transferred much faster than predicted. So far, great!
