How does a virtual phone system work?

Virtual phone systems use a technology called Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), which essentially uses the internet to route audio-based calls, replacing the PBX server and traditional phone lines. Since your phone network is in the cloud, it can be accessed by a wider range of devices and locations.

All you need to do is plug your device into the internet. Ooma provides pre-configured IP desk phones that make connecting to your virtual phone system easy, while downloading an app and logging in is all you need to do for mobile and PC.
