What happens to phone number if telo is replaced?

Post by nippyjun » Sun Sep 19, 2010 6:12 pm

I was wondering what happens to the phone number linked to the telo if for some reason it needs to be replaced?

Does ooma just transfer the number to the new unit? If yes is there a fee involved to transfer the number? Would there be a fee if it was out of warranty?

Just wondering in case something happens in the future.

Thanks.

If your ooma device either is replaced because of a defective unit, or just because you want to upgrade, you just call ooma's support center instead of activating it online. Give them the information they need and you will be up and running with your new unit in a matter of minutes - with your existing ooma phone number. I don't believe there is a charge for the transfer to a new unit but the old system, if working, would cost about $60 to reactivate.
