Xmas lighs and noise on the AC Line it may afffect your LAN

I am using Ethernet-over-Power, a.k.a HomePlug, check link ---> http://www.ooma.com/support/knowledgeba ... plugs-ooma and my TELO is conected that way. I wasn't going to drill holes, pull cables, etc, etc to the room with no Internet access. Anyway, right after I installed the xmas lights, I noticed that my Internet speed drops drastically, from 6Mbps to 1.2 Mbps or so. I though, wait a minute, what is going here. I was going to call AT&T and request a tech to be sent to my house, but just when I was ready to do that, I decided to test the Internet by connecting a straight cable from the router to the Netgear SW where the TELO is connected, and bingo, I got the full speed back.
I thought got be the Xmas lights! I connected the Xmas lights using a Belkin surge supressor, and the problem is gone!

This is the puppy I am using ---> http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage. ... _Id=400738 I like it because of this: EMI/RFI Noise Filtration 150kHz ~ 100MHz up to 40 dB reduction ! I don't care about Joule Rating, if the Xmas lights got fried, good! I get new ones!

One of these days I will hook my Oscilloscope to the AC line after taking the necessary precaution, remove a pair of Belkin surge supressor, and share with guys some pictures.

If you are not using Ethernet over power or have no xmas lighs installed, this may not apply to you, but just in case, these are my two cents.
