Ooma service with existing phone line. No Port. No Ooma Numb

Post by eldiosyeldiablo » Tue Nov 10, 2009 12:17 pm

Right now I have our ooma telo set up using our existing telephone company line.

When registering our ooma I selected the "Port your number" option. However, I have not started this process yet.

Is there any reason to get an Ooma number if I am not going to port our number and we are going to keep our existing lanline?

You are the decision maker for porting or not porting your number. No, you do not need to port if you are sure that you want to continue to pay your phone company.

I believe the majority of ooma users drop their landlines but certainly not everyone does that. It all depends on your need to have a landline.

If you decide not to port your number and later find out that you wish you had, a phonecall to ooma CS can change it for you.
