It might be worthwhile to note that ooma has not discontinued service for residential use for any customers. They don't even mind normal home office use. However, if you are running a phone intensive business, like a phone-based bill collection service or are using your ooma for robocalls (broadcasting recorded political, fundraising, or other messages), they may shut off service.

At one time (about a year ago) ooma was offering a special they called "a buyout" or lifetime premier. It cost about 3.5 times the annual rate. I've had such wonderful success with my ooma systems that it made sense financially. Unfortunately, they no longer offer that option although many have voiced a desire to have it available again.
