Will niece have trouble with new "Core" OOMA installation?

After I got my OOMA core installation set up in August 2010, I liked it so much that in Sept 2010 I ordered one from Amazon for my niece and had it shipped direct to her. She lives in another state. She received it but is afraid to install it.

I have done everything I can think of by phone and email to talk her into it, but so far, no luck. I have even told her to bring it to me and I will sell it. She won't do this either.

Will there come a day when OOMA will refuse to allow installing "Core" type systems since they are obsolete now?

Any advise will be appreciated.

Online activation will be fine. There is no more Core activations though.
This means the base service tier would be basic with monthly taxes.
One thing you can do is for you to keep it and use it as your swap when your current Hub dies.
