My wife called her sister in Ireland and called her home "Landline" phone number.
I went to the Ooma portal and it charged us at the .27 per minute rate, as if she was calling a cellphone.

I reported this to Ooma and got back a response that it was due to taxes and various other charges.

I don't think so, but not sure how to rectify the situation.

+353-1X820XXX Ireland Dec-18 01:06 PM 0:11 2.7¢ $0.34

This appears to be billing at the cellphone rate, correct?

No, 2.7 cents is $0.027, not $0.27.

2.7 cents for 11 minutes is
$0.027 x 11 = $0.30
The 4 cent difference is the flat rate and / or FUSF fee.

Without international bundle, there is FUSF tax per call (at 15 to 18%) + 3.9 cents connection charge.

Federal Universal Service Fund (FUSF) fee changes quarterly and usually ranges from 15 to 18%. The regular connection fee of 3.9¢ is waived for subscribers of any of our International Plans.

Ireland landline is at rate of .023 per minute.

.023 x 11 min = .253
.253 x 1.18 = .29854 (add FUSF tax)
.29854 + .039 = .33754 (add connection fee)

Rounded up = .34 is what you were charged for the 11 minute call.

A lot better than Comcast charging 8 cents for Ireland landline and 30 cents for mobile (taxes added after that too).

If prepaid call log has "Mobile/SS" marking and you believe it is wrong, then you can call Ooma customer service to check.
