I am trying to figure out if my Scout is toast, or there is aline problem.

We got zapped by lightening. Our Home Gateway (Internet router) was zapped. We use ATT which I believe uses the phone line (it is U-Verse, not DSL.)

The scout had a red blinking lite following the strike as the Hub did not see the internet. Following repalcement of the Gateway, the Hub sees the net and works fine. However the Scout gives 4 red lights at bottom (chnage from just blinking red top light.)

So my question is, is my Scout dead or is the problem in the wiring?

Temporarily move your scout beside your hub and connect the wall port of the hub to the wall port of the scout.
If that doesn't put the scout online you could have a problem in the scout or in the hub.
If that does put the scout online you have a problem with the wiring used to connect the two wall jacks together.
