Why is Ooma port scanning me?

Post by Aurien » Thu May 05, 2011 3:24 pm

I'd like to know why Ooma IP's are port scanning my network?

1 208.83.244.120 (portscan) UDP Filtered Portscan
3 208.83.244.109 (portscan) UDP Filtered Portscan
4 208.83.244.92 (portscan) UDP Filtered Portscan
5 208.83.244.104 (portscan) UDP Filtered Portscan

These are obviously originating outside my network going to my WAN address. My Ooma box is sitting behind my router so it's not the Ooma box itself.

I'm guessing those are false positive alerts - various UDP ports are used for the VPN tunnel and the voice traffic. What device is generating the alerts?

Snort service running on my router. So far I can still make and receive calls on the Ooma box.
