These babies are getting very hard to find for under $350. I saw one on, but I was hoping to find one for less. If anyone sees one that is new in box for a good price let me know. I am looking for the "Core" Package, not the Hub only Package. Thanks.

I saw these at the Best Buy in the next city when I purchased my Telo a couple of weeks ago. I called them this morning to see if it was the Hub or the Hub & Scout. The lady I spoke with didn't seem that familiar with them, but said she thought it was just the Hub. I know you are wanting the set, but they have the Hub for $249 if that is any help?!?

Edit: Looking on Amazon, you can get the Hub for $214. Best Buy wouldn't be your best option. Sorry. :(

Back in stock without the $20 credit for international calls...You mileage may vary with taxes and fees ... IN_RSLT_PG

I know that you are looking for the Hub and Scout Combo but this may be the closest you will find in terms of a reasonable price. You can find a new scout online for about 40 bucks.

Thanks, that's a good buy, but I really want a core system. I am trying to find a unit without the monthly taxes. Also, the core comes with lifetime phone support.

It has been my experience that within the last 2 years all the ones that were sold trough Radio Shack were completely free of taxes and fees. Although, we have had some mixed bag success from Amazon as well (1 of 5 free of taxes and fees) but that free one was through a third party merchant who initially purchased from Radio Shack. Radio Shack does not stock these units anymore, only the telo.

However, last year some of the refurbished units from were part of Hub and Core Systems so they were actually free of taxes and fees (well at least for now) but again your mileage may vary.

There was so much miscommunication and misinformation out there with regard to which units were free it was ridiculous.

If you are able to score one have them verify that’s if free prior to your purchase (call ooma with the mac address) Also when you register the free ones don’t ask for a credit card.

Good Luck

Last year, a number of places sold Ooma Core at great prices.

CircuitCity, CompUSA, TigerDirect (all same company) were selling the Core as "OOMA SB 1000109101 VOIP Phone Adapter" for a tad under $200 often. Most of these even came with $50 International Prepaid Credit. I think they were surpluses from TV shopping channel sales. These were a great deal because you could even get Bing Cashback ranging from 8% to 13%. The link on the item is still active: ... No=4682276

Amazon had the Core; sold and shipped by Amazon; most of the time it was ~$245 or $235 last year:

Radioshack had them as well under "Ooma Core" often on sale for $199 or even less ($250 regular). But the item link is dead: ... Id=3615320

I was just registering a Hub that did not want to register and so I spoke to a few ooma reps unfortunately all three said the same thing. They are no longer distributing the HUB and Scout package through their sales channels.

Therefore, it sounds like they will no longer be available through traditional retail sales channels. What that means to one who desires the “Golden Egg” (Hub & Scout Combo free of Taxes and Fees) is that you will be limited to ebay or third party merchants like on
