i go to system preferences says change ooma connection tone or disable it ...i see nothing of an option to do that on that page ....just saying ...i dont want to hear it and i dont want other people to hear it....where do i make these changes

They have apparently disabled it permanently.
The tune you hear when you take your phone off hook is not the connection tone. That is the Ooma dial tone.

I got to agree. They need to update the help column and remove the reference to the options that aren't there. As a new ooma customer, I was pretty confused and kept loading and reloading the page and logging in and out thinking the preference wasn't loading for some reason.

It is something they disabled now.
