i have been with ooma a little over a year and was thinking the other day about how much money i have saved during the last 12-18 months. my phone bill was crazy!

of course, now i am just blowing that $ on other things, so maybe ooma needs to expand into other markets where i am blowing money!

good for you

I kept my AT&T line and changed it to basic, but it took them 3 months to finally make the change and now I have a $60 credit towards an $8 monthly bill.

I was going to start a new thread, but this one is the one we should all post recent money-saving success stories to!

So, today I got my FINAL AT&T bill. $1.92! :D (Normally, about $40). Based on timing of the port and such, I just got past the next bill cycle, I guess. And just in time, there was some notice on that bill that "from now on there is an increase od $1.08 per month for .,.." some stupid extra fees that of course are just more of them raking you over the coals. A former approx $15 monthly phone bill, add caller id and a bazillion 'regulatory fees', and the total was getting close to $40 a month. THAT is why I started seeking a new solution, and Ooma was it.

NO MORE! I'M FREE!!!!!!!!!!

(the ooma customer service still needs help, though...)

Now at one year! Saved about $60 a month for 12 months now=$720 not going to Ma Bell. Telo and 2 handsets - $720 I have saved nearly $410 bucks. While that may sound like a small number, if you consider most bills are rising (at least mine are) and this one is dropping-it is even larger. Next year it will be $720-premier-taxes=$590! I can find a lot better things than a phone bill to use that $590 on. Dave Ramsey would be proud. :D
