Ooma hub gets HOT

Post by OompaLoompa » Sat Aug 22, 2009 6:36 am

Is it normal for the Ooma hub to get really HOT? Has anyone else had this problem?

I noticed there are different versions of the Ooma (bought mine from Costco.com). This one says P/N: 100-0109-100 on the packaging but the unit itself says P/N: 110-0100-307. Why the difference?

The highest temperature that I can find on the surface of my hub is 95.1 degrees F using an IR thermometer.

Wow, didn't realize it got that hot ... reducing the brightness definitely helps.

If you have ooma between the modem and router it really gets hot since it's constantly passing traffic.
Behind the router it's a bit cooler.

Thanks WayneDSR ... that explains it. Mine is behind the router :).
