password protection ooma configuration

Post by razdigital » Fri Feb 19, 2010 7:54 pm

Is this feature available? I use ooma right behind my dsl modem and anyone in my family who needs to get through configures the port-forwarding without needing any sort of authentication. Is password protection not implemented or am I not seeing it?

There is no password authentication. The assumption, for better or worse, is that anyone on your side of the network is trusted. Unless you explicitly open it, people on the Internet cannot gain access from that side. There have been suggestions made in the past that ooma should add a password for security purposes but no word from ooma on the subject.
