Call Transfer

Post by scoutconnor » Sun Aug 23, 2009 6:25 pm

My idea is to have the option to transfer a call during a call. For example, person with phone number 111-111-1111 calls person with ooma hub 222-222-2222. The person with ooma could transfer the call to their cell phone 333-333-3333 mid-call.

I don't care so much about being able to transfer the call as I'd like to have one of those COOL numbers! Maybe (777) 777-7777

Mobile transfer is supposed to be coming with the Telo. However, I don't know if it's an upgrade that will be available for the original hub also.

So do you know if this feature will include the ability to transfer mid-call?

I believe so, but I guess we'll have to wait and see for sure. I thought I read a Buchanan twitter that mentioned it also.

According to Rich Buchanan, Ooma's chief marketing officer, Telo "helps combine the home phone and cell phone so you can enjoy the benefits of both without any compromises."

The Telo improves upon the feature set of the original system, as well as the call quality. Ooma representatives are highlighting how you can have calls from your cell phone redirected to the Telo.

Rich Buchanan, Ooma's Chief Executive Officer, says, "Simply put, Telo sounds better, connects better, and works better than any traditional phone or VoIP service available today. Telo represents the necessary evolution of communication in the home and helps combine the home phone and cell phone so you can enjoy the benefits of both without any compromises."

Hi - I was wondering if anyone knew if this feature was finally added? I didn't see it in the normal setup guide directions for features. The call transfer option was something I enjoyed with Vonage, but didn't know if there was a special * dial code that was needed or if anyone knew how?

There isn't a way to transfer calls mid call; there is a feature where you can send someone to voicemail mid call.

Hi SouthSound, in your area code....

As of beginning of this year, these numbers are available to you:

360 2000002
360 2055555
360 2199999
360 6332222

There are some closer to the (777) 777-7777 in the 253 area code

253 6667777
253 6668888
253 6669999

Info from http://excellentnumbers.com/

These guys charge a service fee for getting one of these numbers to you on a SIM, in your name. I found out the scoop just because I was curious....they are >= $100, I think the 253 ones are like $300+ I guess if you are in business and want a vanity number, it might be worth it.
