Question - Solid Answer -

Post by UnknownCaller » Sun Aug 09, 2009 9:53 am

Like any forum I appologize if this has been hashed and rehashed somewhere else in the forums, but I can't seem to get a straight answer from emailing tech support.

The question I have is this: All over the www when you search for ooma you get a ton of sites that say something to the effect of - outgoing calls use OTHER ooma boxes in the terminating CLEC to complete calls. IS this still true? Or was this just a beta thing.

Because I hate to be troll complainer but if that is the case - sorry but little white ooma box goes back to the store today.

That leaves an extroardinary privacy and future tort dartboard open, one would assume.

Ooma no longer uses peer to peer networking

See this topic and read the comments by OOMA Moderator Bobby B

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ooma):
In January of 2008, Ooma terminated the use of peer-to-peer technology allowing users to completely eliminate their current POTS telephone service
