Maximum number of simultaneous calls is ... ?

Post by bryanlyle » Sun Apr 26, 2009 8:59 am

So, no matter how many scouts I have (each with a dedicated number), the maximum number of simultaneous calls per hub is 2, correct?

If so, is there any possibility that might ever get expanded?

Not likely. There are only two line buttons.

I was hoping that we could get to the point where each unit (hub / scout) could have 2 separate lines. Oh well. :-)

I think the hub can carry on 2 concurrent phone conversations. I could be wrong. The limiting factor is probably the HPNA network the hub and scout(s) use to communicate with each other.

I think some folks on the forum actually use several ooma hubs to get around the 2 line limit. At the price of ooma, if your needs justify more than two lines, I can't think of a more cost effective way to get them.

I'm adding a second hub, myself for our third number. But not before I let my 80 year old mother try it out. She's so nervous about the whole "new fangled" thing that I told her she could try mine. We're taking it to her on Tuesday.

If she can't adapt, I'll re-register it to me and pay the transfer fee.

I suspect she'll love it, but she'll feel better not burning any bridges first and I'll just get another.
