My service is grandfathered on a Hub. I do not have Premier and I am not charged any taxes. Suppose that, for some reason, I had no broadband internet service available for an extended period of time, such as 6-12 months. Would my voice mail service still be available indefinitely, or would it eventually disappear, if the hub was no longer connected?

I guess it will work, until the inbox is full. You are still able to check and listen to your voice mail with any phone while the hub is disconnected.
I gave my old hub (a core one) to my brother, and he just stuffed it into his basement and all forgot about it. Months later, I found out, take it back and gave it to another. This time, the hub continues to work when plugged in. He only paid the fee to port his phone number. [edited: this was last year, and thing changed]
