Voicemail light doesn't flash (play button)

The voicemail button used to turn red and flash whenever we got a voicemail, but it has stopped doing that. Now, the wireless phones that we have themselves say "new voicemail" on them, but its harder to read and we often don't notice that we have new voicemail.

Our premium did just run out not too long ago, is that the reason? Is there a setting somewhere that can change or fix this? Is there another good way for us to know whenever we get new voicemail?

Sounds like you may have the lights dimmed - if you have the hub (white) then adjust the little wheel on the right hand side. If you have the Telo (black) then tap the little starburst several times as it cycles through various levels of illumination.
