Why the delay in hearing me when someone calls?

Post by gfrobe » Thu Dec 03, 2009 7:52 am

Whenever I answer my phone there seems to be a 2 or 3 second delay before the caller can actually hear me saying anything. My workaround at the moment is to pick up the phone, wait a few seconds and then say hello but I'm finding this really annoying. Is there anything I can do about this?

Knowing nothing about your setup, the first thing I'd look at is the phone itself. Is it cordless? If so can you test with a corded phone to see if the problem persists?

Sorry for lack of info. Yes, it is a cordless phone connected to hub (with no landline). Unfortunately, I don't have a corded phone handy that I could try. I did consider the phone as the possible source of problem but assumed that since the rest of the call was fine (no delay, echo or sound quality problems), that the phone was probably working properly and not the problem. I guess I could be wrong but was hoping someone else might have had a similar problem was able to and solve it.
