After multiple emails between Ooma and myself and one Customer Care phone call I have received an email from Ooma Customer Care stating that they do not support Ooma Mobile app on the iPhone 4S running iOS 6.xx. Here is the verbatim transcript of the email I just received:

Dear JOHN,
Good day! Thank you for contacting Ooma Customer Care!
We apologize for the inconvenience. iPhone 4S running the newest iOS version is not currently supported, but it is on our radar for future development.
Your $9.99 will be refunded within the next 24-48 hours.
If you have further questions............
Thank you for choosing Ooma!
Sincerely,
Ray
Ooma Customer Care Specialist

So I guess I'll just have to wait for Ooma Mobile for iPhone 4S to move from the radar to shipping product.
John

Sadly, I don't believe a single word of what you were told, other than you're getting a refund. It's the sort of thing I expect a first-level support person to say when they can't be bothered investigating.

I am using Ooma Mobile on an iPhone 4S running iOS 6.1.2 and so far I have not had problems.

Just made a 10-minute call to my wife on an iPhone 4S from a hotel over WiFi (and a VPN) with Ooma Mobile - worked fine. Given that so many people are having problems, there must be something wrong, but it isn't so generic as "doesn't support the iPhone 4S".

I was in a cafe in Canada.

Made 2 calls using wifi. First didn't make it past 32 seconds and lost audio. 2nd stayed on throughout.

I am also having issue with ooma mobile app for Iphone 4s and 5 both.

Either my call will die after 30 seconds after connecting it, or it will work just fine. Sound volume is little low though.

No solutions yet. Ooma CS told me to reinstall the app, but it did not help.

On Verizon, iPhone 4S still uses Verizon 3G. Very slow so I would think you'd have issues using celluar data. If AT&T iPhone 4S, should not have issues. Of course, with wifi data speed should not be an issue unless connected to slow public network.
