Just installed the Telo the other day.
When I hit the TALK button on my cordless phone to get dial tone, I hear the 4 tone chime (very faint) and what I think sounds like a ground hum rather than a normal dial tone sound from a legacy service provider. Is the Ooma dial tone suppose to sound like this?
The tone breaks as soon as I hit a number and there's no hum on the calls. Calls complete fine and sound fine.

Once the chime completes it is a normal dialtone.

To change to regular dialtone, you can go here https://my.ooma.com/phone_numbers
click on Telo, change mode to fax machine.
In this mode, you are only changing the dialtone; fax mode activates only when fax is detected.
