Dial Tone Quality

Post by dsinternet » Sat Sep 25, 2010 7:04 am

My brother, basic ooma user had his power go out on Friday at about 6:10pm CST. Every since then, instead of the normal "Ring" sound when he calls out. He gets a broken "80's Video game" sound. When calling Ooma to Ooma, he hears a "Donkey Kong Hammer" sound right before the other party picks up. When calling Ooma to non Ooma he hears the video game sound followed by the normal ring sound right before the party picks up. This happens every time he calls out. He has no way of knowing if the other partys phone is ringing or if its busy. The call quality is "ok" like it has always been.

I will let my brother know that he is the only one with this problem. He is getting old and might be hearing things from his video game days. :-)

Tell him to reboot the Ooma box to see if that has any effect.
