NOT 5 V, the hub is 12V.

I went out to my power supply junk box and I have everything but what I want. Go figure. The Scout supply will not handle the load of the hub according to the specs. If they send me a 3 prong supply it should fix the problem. It will cover either a bad supply or a ground problem. Joshua has already contacted me via e-mail. I gave him my mailing address but he probably could have gotten it from my lounge profile.

The hub takes 12 VDC at 1.2A according to the manual. The center conductor is +. Any chance that you have another wall wart around the house that is 12 VDC and at least 1.2 A that has a matching DC power plug? That would quickly tell you if the hub power supply is the problem. Unfortunately the Scout power supply is 5 VDC so it's not an option.


I was not thinking when I made the last post. Stupid me. There is no internal supply. It is the adapter. Stupid stupid. Let me go see if I can find a 5 volt adapter in my junk power supply box. I have a bunch.

I didn't even start using the wall port until last night. The hum has always been there even when I was running the hub as a stand alone with just the phone on the hub connected. I didn my install in stages.
