Porting Experence

Just to let others know how my porting is going.
I am porting a number from Bresnan Cable.

X Order Received Jun 02, 2010
X Info verified Jun 02, 2010
X Port initiated Estimate Jun 18,2010
Port scheduled for completion
Port completed

My estimate came and went, and it has been 27 days and no port has happened yet. I am hopeful this will happen soon as I want to cut my Bresnan phone cord soon.

I am just concerned that the scheduled completion date will be far in the future. Oh well I guess I will just try to be patient.

I did call Ooma on the 19th and they were more than pleasant and nice, telling me to give it a bit longer. I am assuming that the issue is with my current provider Bresnan.

I will update this post as my status changes. There are others in my area changing over to ooma and I hope this post will help them be patient as well.

Mine went "as advertised." Was on Cox (until today) and it was three weeks from start to finish.

Ok so now my port is complete (I have not confirmed this because I am at work)

Whats interesting is that at 10:30 got an email saying "Your number will be transferred soon The day you've been waiting for is almost here! Your carrier has scheduled your number transfer for tomorrow, 06-29-2010. Below are the details for the order.

Ok, thats good, but the 29th is today :)

Then at 10:31 got a port date has been confirmed.

and then bam at 10:35 got the "Congratulations! your number has been transferred to ooma!"

So my port is hopefully finished exactly 4 weeks to the day.
