Access ooma firewall configuration for SlingBox

Post by aceroinox » Tue Oct 13, 2009 12:44 am

I'm adding a 2nd SlingBox to my network. My configuration is cable modem --> Ooma Hub --> router. My first SlingBox works like a champ...I'm able to access it from the web with no issues. Original setup required port forwarding on both my router and the Ooma, but like an idiot I didn't document what I did to enable it on the ooma.

For starters, when I try to access 172.27.35.1 (my Ooma's IP address per my router status) on my browser to login to the ooma firewall, I get the Ooma Setup screen, but only the "Ports" menu button works. Am I going about this wrong? How do you access the Ooma firewall setup to configure port forwarding?

What browser are you using? There are many reports that Chrome won't work.

Turns out it was Kaspersky Firewall that was standing in the way. Added the additional Port Forwarding rule and now 2nd Slingbox works great!

What should the slingbox settings be? The IP address should match what you set in your
router for port 5001 correct? What about the default gateway? Should that be set to your
ooma's IP, the IP given to your router by the ooma, or the standard 192.168.1.1?

Thanks
