I tried to port my phone number and I got a message stating that I may not be able too. It left a phone number and the phone number led me to this web page forum. My phone company said I could port my number so please tell me how I should port my number.

Call customer service and ask for the porting department, they will give you a straight answer. The other carrier telling you your number is portable is accurate too (maybe just not to Ooma for now). This maybe a case where you have to wait a bit for your number to be portable to Ooma.
