I have the wireless jack plugged into the wall power outlet and the wall phone jack. Like I said when I unplug the wireless jack from the wall phone jack the extension phone goes dead so that would seem to indicate the house phone are being used. I'm going to try your suggestion about moving the wires when I get someone to help me. I'm disabled so I can't do it myself.

My confusion comes from you are getting dialtone from the walljack but what's giving your walljack dialtone?
