I've read about separating your landline phone number from the DSL. I called Cincinnati Bell to do this, but said since I don't have two lines into the house, the only option was to assign my account a virtual number, leaving the original home number to be ported, without interrupting the whole service (as a bundle). I will still, of course, have to keep paying them for the landline number AND DSL while this is going on. After this happens, I'm free to fire them or go with another naked DSL service from AT&T. To stay with them, they did say they can give me the same price as AT&T naked (3MB) for a year. I'm hoping it all goes well.
