Need Clarification on How to use 2nd Line

Currently we have 2 lines, one of which we are using as a fax line. We want to use the 2nd line SOLELY for voice, whereas the 1st line is being used SOLELY for faxing.

Right now I have a splitter that splits off onto a 1-line system and my fax machine.

What do I need in order to utilize the 2nd phone number for voice use? Would I need a 2 line system to replace my current system?

Also, the cord connecting the Ooma to the splitter only has 2 gold connectors, do I need to replace this cord with another cord that has 4 gold connectors?
