How to Call France from the U.S.

It’s easy to call France from the United States.

You can use either your Ooma Telo-connected home phone or the Ooma Mobile app.

  • First dial 011 to exit the U.S. telephone system.
  • Then dial 33, which is the country code for France.
  • Now dial the nine-digit local number.

Calls made through the Ooma Mobile app do not use any cellular minutes or incur international charges on your wireless bill. Instead, these calls are routed over your data connection and may count against the data allotment with your cellular phone provider if you are not connected to Wi-Fi.

If you encounter any issues or have any further questions, feel free to get in contact with us via our Customer Support website at https://support.ooma.com.

If you are frequently making international calls, upgrading to one of Ooma’s dialing plans can save you money.

The Ooma World Plan provides unlimited calls to all landlines in France. Other calls are billed at the low rates offered to Premier subscribers — $0.099 to cell phones and $0.35 to special service numbers with an 8 area code. In total, the plan gives you unlimited calling to landline numbers in 60 countries and mobile numbers in 10 countries for a low rate of $17.99 per month.

The Ooma World Plus Plan expands the number of countries included in the unlimited calling package. For the low rate of $25.99 per month, this plan provides unlimited calls to landlines in 70 countries and mobile phones in 40 countries, including France’s landlines, cell phones and special service numbers.

Free International Calling

While the Ooma World plans give you unlimited calls to many locations, you can also use Ooma to make free international calls. Any Ooma-to-Ooma calls are 100% free regardless of the amount of time you talk, so if your contact in France is also an Ooma customer, you can talk as long as you want and it won’t cost a penny. You’ll also have calls in crystal-clear HD voice, which is much better quality than standard telephone lines can provide.

Calling Cards

International calling cards for France typically charge rates that are cheaper than traditional phone plans.

But Ooma offers even more ways to save. If you imagine you’ll spend several hours per month calling internationally, whether it’s catching up with your family or calling for work, upgrading to one of Ooma’s dialing plans gives you unlimited calling to many global locations so you can spend as long as you’d like on the phone without recharging calling cards.

Use Ooma to call France

Ooma is a popular choice for international calls to France. Affordable calling solutions range from Basic Service with low per-minute rates to international dialing plans with unlimited monthly calls.

Using Ooma’s Basic Service, dialing rates to France start at just $0.022 per minute for calls to landlines. Calls to mobile phones are billed at $0.199, and calls to special service numbers with an 8 area code cost $0.35 per minute. Basic Service has no monthly fee for crystal-clear nationwide calling, and international calls are prepaid, so charges are deducted from your balance.

With Premier Service, calling rates to France’s landlines and special service numbers remain the same, but calling rates to mobile phones drop to $0.099 per minute. With Premier Service, per-minute charges are billed in addition to the $9.99 monthly charge for the plan.

In addition to the lower rates, Ooma’s Premier Service subscribers gain access to a whole host of additional features. For example, Premier customers get powerful call-blocking tools to protect against telemarketers, the Ooma Mobile app for making calls from your mobile phone, voicemail access through email, free unlimited calling to Canada and Mexico, plus many others that Basic Service doesn’t provide. You pay applicable monthly taxes and fees.
