That's great because murphy is really the AG in Pennsylvania and would sue your butt if it was legal advice and you weren't one of those detestable attorneys with a real sheepskin, etc. :P

Anyone know if the fax issues have been addressed? I called customer service and as usual they were not very helpful, just told me this has been a problem and that they are working on it. She also said that she switched my setup to fax mode. I have an Ooma Hub, which does not have this feature (unlike the Teleo). Each time I call I have less faith in customer service.

I think Ooma hubs actually had the fax mode option in the configuration pages in the past, but they removed them, since the hub is supposed to auto-detect fax tones and switch to the proper codec for incoming calls.

The Telo's don't (or don't yet) have that auto-detect feature, thus there is a configuration page option to enable it.

I wouldn't necessarily think the CSR didn't know what they were doing when they enabled fax mode since they might have access to the old UI that you no longer have access to.

Another unhappy Ooma customer here. Fax stopped working about 2 weeks ago and I need it for my business. I see that Ooma support pages suggest a way to designate "fax" for a line but that option is not working. I've tried all the suggestions - removing ECM, lower baud rate, etc... Nothing is working and this sucks.

Hey Everyone,

I am having the faxing issue as well. I am a new Ooma customer (Core), just got hooked up and ported in October.

I don't need to receive faxes but I DO need to SEND them.

*99 and ECM off. Power cycled.

I have been able to send one fax so far today. Every other time I try to send, one of three error occurs:

1. The fax dials the number and then Ooma cuts the call and resets the dial tone.

2. The fax dials, tries to connect, and then reports no connection established.

3. The fax dials, connects, and then the fax fails.

Arrrrrgh! Otherwise I am very happy with the product. But I NEED to send faxes.

Hellooooooo, Engineering???? Can someone there give us some kind of status update? Have you identified the problem? Is there an estimated lead time on restoration of service? :?

Hello cheapsk8,

We may have a beta fix for hubs. Can you try in 10 minutes or so?

Make sure to dial *99 + phone number to test outbound faxing.

Afterwards, please report your results or send me a personal message.

Thx

Hello lbmofo,

Thanks for the feed! Sorry for not being specific, I think it's only certain customers that are affected.

My faxes worked yesterday, and it was on and off last week. I've noticed that it tends to work early or late in the business day, and most likely not to work during the middle of the business day. Does server traffic play a role in this?
