Port

Post by excuzee » Wed Sep 29, 2010 7:03 pm

Order received Received order on Aug 17, 2010

Information verified Your porting info was verified on Aug 17, 2010

Port initiated Number port is estimated to complete on Oct 13, 2010

This is the second port estimated time. The first was supposed to be complete on September 16, 2010 Has anyone seen it take this long? I am not happy and wondering if this Ooma purchase was a mistake. I have called tech support but they do not have any answers. Any information on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hello,

Porting a number to Ooma does take on average 3-4 weeks.
Unfortunately, we do not have full control of this piece of the puzzle. Our carriers can change dates.

Typically a Firm Order Commitment date (FOC) is pretty certain.
I show a target of 10/13 for you.

We appreciate your patience!

Is "Port scheduled for completion" date based on FOC?

I'm not too sure about the term, ""Port scheduled for completion."

The only 2 terms we use are:

-RDD(Requested Due Date) - this is what we are requesting from our porting carrier as a target date for the number to port over.

-FOC(Firm Order Commitment) date - this is the actual date that is the day the number should port to Ooma. I have seen very few exceptions where this date is missed due to circumstances beyond the carrier/Ooma's control.

My guess:

RDD = Port initiated - Number port is estimated to complete on xx/xx/xx
FOC = Port scheduled for completion - Your port is scheduled to complete on xx/xx/xx

Question: are you going to be setting RDD to 1 business day come Feb?

:( I am still waiting:

Port initiated Number port is estimated to complete on Sep 16, 2010.

I am wondering how much longer before my number gets ported from Cavalier.
