Hi,
OOMA says they can not port our phone number because of our area and they say our cable company won't allow it. This number has been ours for several years. Can the cable company do this? Any suggestions?

I suggest you call the Cable comp. first. If they refuse to allow you to port your number, your only resource is to file a complain against them with the FCC and your local Public Commission Service.

Another option is to call your local news station department dealing with consumer issues and ask for help. The actual name is vary from station to station.
