Area Code Mismatch

I live in the 415 area code and received a 415 area code number from Ooma. The kicker, caller id displays a city 400miles away. Anyway to fix this?

Typically, you are able to choose from a list of numbers when you sign up. I haven't had to do that in months - my last system was my Telo back in August, but as I recall, even in my little town there were many numbers available - some from outside my calling area, others close by. If you call ooma's technical support at 888 711-6662 they may be able to assign a new, closer number for you. Depending on how long it has been since you set up the number, they might even be able to waive the fee ( I think it is about $12 ). No guarantees but I have always found that calling with a clear idea of what you want but also with a polite and humble attitude works wonders.
