E-mail notification

Post by dsinternet » Mon Dec 14, 2009 5:06 pm

I can't get ooma to take my e-mail address of xxxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxx.xxx.xx.xxx
It is 1 letter to long.
So Ooma must limit your e-mail address to 31 and my e-mail address is 32 long.
Any ideas how I can get voicemail notifications to this address.
Thanks

Do you have another shorter email address that you could send it to first and then auto forward it to it's final destination from there?

The e-mail address that I am trying to get to is my work e-mail with a strong spam filter. It spams many things that are forward.
I will give it a try.
It seems kinda silly that Ooma would limit the size of your e-mail address. It is even more frustrating that I miss it by one letter. If my name was 1 letter shorter, then it work.

We're tracking this bug in 6674 - Email address limited to 30 characters. We'll update the limit to 70 characters. I think we should have a fix sometime by early next week.

Thank you for the update. 70 characters will be wonderful.
By the way, what does "6674" mean in "We're tracking this bug in 6674"

I am frustrated with my Telo/Handset, but am happy to see Ooma working so hard to get things fixed and working.
Thanks for letting me know what is happening.

Ooma assigns numbers to each bug. It's just a quick way to reference an issue that's already been identified.

The above post was from December 14 2009. Any idea when this bug will be fixed. I check it every week. My work e-mail is 1 character to long. I am looking forward to getting my work e-mail on Ooma. Thanks

Probably quicker to sign up for a gmail account and forward the mail.

I have already done that, it's just the idea that they said it would be working by the end of December and it's
March already.
