No Telephone Numbers Available in the Atlanta area

Post by rajeev_mahajan » Mon Sep 14, 2009 7:41 am

Ooma seems to have run out of numbers in the 678, 404, 770 area codes. Any idea on when we can expect new ones? Did Google Voice hijack all of them?!

If you haven't already done so, call Ooma support and they can "order" a number for you. It takes a few days to get it, but it does work.

Hmmm... perhaps the Ooma agent who answered the call yesterday wasn't trained to do that. I tried exactly this last evening but was told to check "in a few days".

I also need an Atlanta number. So far, no such luck over last few days. I even tried to call and 'ahem got hung up on (later tried to call, and couldn't access the call center - outage?).

Post your status/process on how you got one.

P.S. I did get prompt email support, and they indicated that these numbers go fast. Funny thing is when I set up Ooma, there seemed to be several available.

Sounds to me like sales are picking up, which I view as a good thing!

I simply tried in a few days and saw a few more listed.

I tried the link to in the FAQ, and you can no longer click on it. I'm wanting to purchase Ooma, but I'm worried that service is not available in Atlanta if there are no numbers.

Has anyone had any luck?

Try 678-444 in the link bw1 posted. Or 404-585, or 770-217.
