Drastic drop in internet speed since upgrading to premier

Post by number9 » Sun Aug 23, 2009 10:46 am

I upgraded to premier service on Friday Aug.21 2009, and now have a very reduced rate of speed.
My set up is all hard wired (no wifi) router - ooma - computer. No scout is hooked up.
I use AT&T Uverse for my service provider.

My speed test results were: Ping 41, Download 0.21mb/s, Upload 0.95 mb/s

My service is for 3mbps. As you can see, I'm no where near that since the up grade to premier on Friday.

Thanks!

That sounds like an ISP issue. Can you eliminate the ooma hub from your network and run a speed test again?

Hi Barry, long time no see.
I can't see how Premier made a bit of difference, so my bet would be the service provider. Since we've had some storms in the area, that might have something to do with it.

Might be your provider. Some providers throttle internet speeds if they determine you are using too much bandwidth.

It was an ISP issue! Three days and six technicians later, I'm up and running. Thanks for all the replies!
Wayne, I still stop in, mostly as a lurker. It's nice to see you, Southsound, and Murphy are still keeping the newbies calm.
