I use to have Magic Jack and the problems you mention are all Magic Jack related. Their service is terrible, it is a real third world experience. I've called Majic Jack custormers using ooma and sometimes it is great and other times it is really bad. When it was bad using ooma I called them right away on my cell and it was still awful. Tell your buds to junk Magic Jack, it will improve their lives tremendously.

Thankfully you found an excellent low cost solution to replace your MJ. I know people say Ooma is expensive, and maybe it is. Compared to the service and cost I received from the local teclo, I find Ooma to be one of the best deals out there. Right up there with Monoprice.
