After using my Ooma Tello for about 18 months without any problems, the voicemail recorder has failed. The voice commands also seem to be shorting out. I can log on to my account and retrieve messages but it's kind of a pain. Tech support reset my unit but no luck. The only solution was to buy a new ($179) or refurbished unit ($139) since it's 6 months out of warranty. Ooma a great service but not if I need to replace the hardware every 18 months. Any suggestions for a fix?

There is no voicemail recorder in the Telo. Voicemail is stored on an Ooma server.
The only component that I can think of that would affect voicemail playback is the telo's internal speaker.
Does the speaker work for the voice prompts?
Hold the envelope key until it starts talking. Is it understandable?
Does the key at the left of the top row change the volume level?
