US-CERT recommended Internet users disable Java in browsers. US-CERT is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

A fix for this problem is reported to be in place next Tuesday?????

Since to be able to safely use Java, an update or reinstall will be required, I just uninstalled Java from all of my computers. Once a corrected/protected version of Java is released, I will just download and install that latest version of Java at that time.

I did the same thing yesterday and uninstalled Java from my computer. The web sites I regularly visit don't use Java, so not having it hasn't affected me.
