Opting out of 911

Post by enjoy14 » Sat Feb 11, 2012 4:20 am

Quick question. I live in east Africa and use Ooma to call family in the states mainly. I set up Ooma using my us residential address even though I do not actually reside there. Is there a way to opt out of the 911 service (and applicable fees). It would be bad if someone at my house dialed 911 and emergency responders showed up half a world away.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

You have to keep a US address in the account (used for 911 purpose). No way to prevent taxes either. Best option is not call 911.
