With data caps and all, I seem to be coming close every month, can someone tell me how much data is used on an ooma per minute. I do not believe it is much but I would like to know.

Thanks,

Felix

It depends on how often and how long you use the Ooma phone system. If you don't use the Ooma phone system very much, the total amount of data usage would be very small, almost none. But if you use the phone quite often the amount of data usage would be a little higher, but still very low as compared to using a computer.

Log into your Ooma from a non wireless computer hard wire connected to the Home port.

http://setup.ooma.com or http://172.27.35.1

Click on Status in the left column and then click on Ports.
The right hand column will show the the total data received (RX bytes) and sent (TX bytes) since the last time the Ooma box was restarted.

Does not look like much but how exactly do you read it?

RX Bytes 0 (0.0 B) 97493149 (92.9 MiB)
TX Bytes 0 (0.0 B) 12200831 (11.6 MiB)

The first column is for the Home port, which I don't use for anything.
The second column is for the Internet port.
Add the numbers together (92.9 + 11.6 = 104.5 Mib or 0.1045 gigabytes).
That is the total usage of the Telo since the last time it was turned on.
I have a 250 gigabyte cap.
The Telo usage is insignificant compared to the cap.

Watching HD movies online is what will run up your usage in a hurry.
