Hello everyone; I ordered a caller ID info change, I was charged for it and informed the change had been made, however whenever I call from the main number which is the one I requested the change for I now only see the number showing, and the new name provisioned doesn't show.

Is this normal? does it take a long time before it updates? I think something is wrong because before it would show the name and number, now it only shows our number, besides when I look up the number at http://tnid.us/ it still shows the old info.

It may be normal. How long has it been? Sometimes it takes a long time for a number/name to get propagated to the many data bases in which it must be updated. For Ooma numbers especially -- Ooma seems to do it rather poorly, somehow -- this sometimes takes many months; mine took half a year, which is unreasonable.

Thanks, it's been just a few days, however in the case that it indeed takes a long time, why is it that it no longer shows the old name but just the number ?

How long depends on how often the receiver's carrier updates their information. After two and a half months, my CID for my temp ooma number never did show the name. However, the day my number ported late last week, my mother stated there was no name information. Only the number. Two days after my port she was seeing my name as provisioned by ooma. She is on AT&T so I am guessing we timed it right with AT&T's update or AT&T updates often.

I'm also guessing that http://tnid.us/ isn't real time either. It is still showing my number using my old provider.

Just wanted to share my experience.
