Voicemail Greetings DO NOT PLAY On Outgoing Calls, Help!

Post by dmal99 » Tue Mar 29, 2011 7:25 am

I noticed this topic from a while back:
http://www.ooma.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10213

I think I am having the same problem, if I understand it correctly.

Any time I call a number, no matter what number, cell phone, I CANNOT HEAR THE VOICEMAIL GREETING OR ANYTHING AFTER.

The phone line simply goes silent, and every now and then I will hear a beep to signify the message has been recording for too long, but most times it is simply silence.

It happens nomatter what, even if I call my own cell phone.

Does ANYONE know what is going on, or can help? If I cannot find an answer, obviously i will have to port my phone number to some other VOIP carrier.

PLEASE HELP!

Call customer support. They need to be made aware that this is still a problem.

Thanks for the forum link.

If I dial *98 it works, I can hear the voicemail greetings.

Is there any way to make my phone PERMANENTLY use the *98 codec?

THanks!

I sincerely hope that OOMA is a company that actually listens to their users. I'm so tired of dealing with companies who don't.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.
