I just activated my Ooma Telo for close to a week now and I am currently on the trial Premier Services for free 60 days. I want to know when do I have to pay the state and tax fees each month ? Is the first year the taxes are paid for each month and you pay starting on the second year or do you start paying the taxes every month after the 60 days trial premier services. Is the states and taxes dependent on how many lines you have. I have 2 telephone lines with Ooma. Thanks for any information.

Monthly Regulatory Recovery Fees are due starting the 2nd month. This fee is on per Telo or Hub device basis.

Taxes are paid automatically, so don't worry about it. They'll be paid when they need to be.

I wonder how long it will be before they start making everybody (including the early Ooma users) pay those fees... or maybe they will just wait until their units die... I don't think those old units will last past 3 years, unless of course you have a lifetime Premier ( and that is probably why they don't offer it anymore ?)

I just activated my ooma. I got 60 day free premier trial. When my fees do start, how does ooma collect fees "automatically"? I did not give any credit info when I activated it.

Hello,

You are one of the few that has what I call a "Golden Ooma Egg" which does not include taxes or fees.

I thought that if you currently have an Ooma Hub or Telo, and if your unit dies, you can transfer the account information, including taxes (or tax exemptions) to the new Ooma...am I mistaken?

Hello ajw522,

You are correct, I did not cover exceptions. As long as the account isn't cancelled, you'll retain the account services even on transferring units. These exceptions require a call to our support folks. Note: warranties on the hardware would not be covered from third party purchases.
